December 2010
A couple weeks shy of his 12th birthday, Dibley proved yet again that he is not ready to admit he's getting old! We were up in Courtenay on November 20th & 21st to support Forbidden Plateau's Rally trials (in the snow!). The old boy was certainly at his best winning 5 High in Classes, 4 of those with perfect scores!
From that weekend alone, he is now ranked as the top Rally Weimaraner in Canada on CanuckDogs!
We also had a great time on Dibley's trip to the AAC National Agility Championships in August - the days were really long, and of corse the time difference being an hour earlier made those 6am starts even harder! I'm pretty sure Dibley had bags under his eyes by the last morning! The weather was perfect (always a concern in Calgary!), and the venue of Spruce Meadows was amazing as always.
Dibley had 2 clean runs, and only a total of 15 faults from 3 refusals in the other classes, which is pretty darn good! We placed 35th out of 55 in our division (16" Double drop Veterans). Keep in mind that most of the other dogs in this class have been doing agility a lot longer than we have! Considering we've only been competing for a year and a half, I'm pretty darn proud!
Most importantly, Dibley got to visit his favourite town of Canmore Alberta. They have lots of ground squirrels and really stupid bunnies that don't run away when you get frighteningly close to them, so that's why Dibley likes it there!

Winstrae's Sudden Turbulence
Marley goes Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Group at the ALBERNI VALLEY KENNEL CLUB show.
Did well for the first day of Marley's show. She had never been on a show leash, or a handling class or even gone over by strangers. Took BW for 2 points. When we got our ribbons Mike Macbeth the judge commented "This is a nice puppy". Came back in later for group. When she went to go down the line she moved everyone else around but me and Deanna with her Brittnay puppy who was right behind me. Then she made us 2 go around and pointed at the weim, Laughing saying it's going to be between these 2 all weekend. Iwalked over to the table with her to have her sign the ribbon, and she said to me "This puppy is going places" When we went in for BPIS and she was at the end of her day, so not quite as steady. We had a different judge for BPIS, and she was okay for the bite, then then shoulders, but then his tie slipped out of his suit jacket and hit her which made her break. I restacked her, held her in the loin, he patted her and we did our down and back. She was more figety and breaking her stack, so basically she was done.
Multiple compliments on her, and when dog show people saw her put herself into a stack just hanging out ringside, their mouths fell open....more compliments.....awww shucks. We went to do pictures, and the ringsteward said you are going to have to hurry, she's got herding dogs waiting ringside. As I went to stack her for the photo, I said to the judge apparently we are in a hurry...her response is "there will be no hurrying for this photo .....I almost gave her the breed!" (over the specials bitch!)
